Cook County Crime Stoppers 2008 Awards Dinner
|
22nd Anniversary 1986 - 2008
|

Dear Supporters:
Cook County Crime Stoppers, a non-profit, non-partisan organization, works with the community, law enforcement
and media to help solve and deter crimes in the neighborhoods. Since our inception in 1985 we have been
contacted by the public more than 7,000 times letting us know of illegal activities in their neighborhood. Crime
Stoppers takes these tips and forwards them on to law enforcement agencies. Over
2,200 cases have been solved resulting in over 2,400 arrests and recovery of almost $21,000,000 in illegal narcotics
and stolen property. Funds to pay the rewards are from tax deductible donations made by you. We do not receive
any government funding.
Each year we have the privilege of recognizing citizens, law enforcement officers, community organizations,
corporations and media for their personal involvement in
helping to deter crime.
On September 11, 2008 Crime Stoppers will recognize these brave individuals for the actions they have taken in
2007. These honored recipients were nominated by law enforcement agencies within their community.
Our keynote speaker this evening will be Police Superintendent, Jody Weis. We are proud to recognize Richard
Devine Cook County State’s Attorney for his long and productive career in law enforcement. We will also recognize
law enforcement Task Forces that completed investigations against drug cartels and weapons selling, and also
honor citizens who went above and beyond the call to help in their personal lives.
I hope that you will be able to join us as we honor these hero’s from our communities. Hero’s that normally go about
their lives but, one day, took a stand against crime. Please fill out the registration form that is attached, fax or mail
your reservation today. I look forward to seeing and meeting you at the Crime Stoppers Awards Dinner on
September11th.
